This is a case where I keep saying I will finish it, but I never have the time. As a long-time Mercedes DIY enthusiast, I’ve owned and rebuilt many models, including a 2006 S65 V12, a 2017 AMG GTS, a 2009 SL63, and a 2016 GL 450.
In 2020, I purchased a 2007 SL550 that needed mechanical and interior work. Over time, I installed a new starter and A/C compressor and repaired the hydraulic lift cylinder for the folding roof. The car has a seven-speed automatic transmission, runs great, and has a clear Florida title. It is fully capable of being driven wherever it needs to go.
However, with too many other projects taking priority, I’ve decided to sell it as-is at a no-reserve auction. I’m confident that any capable DIY owner can finish this car and enjoy it for years.
