Also, I'm keeping the car. It's a super clean and almost showroom condition. I've had every E55, E63 from 2005 to 2019, and to me the 2016 5.5 V8 and the way the car handles is more intuitive than the newer models. Smaller overall body, and easy to place the corners of the car vs the newer models. I also like analog gauges and buttons, and the visceral feeling of the big V8 when you floor it, and how it has less gears giving the car a smoother yet aggressive feel as opposed to the tight 9 speed on the newer versions.
I know, I'm old school
All the new tech is great and does perform better on paper/or in stats, but the car is just more fluid and exciting to me. The thing just growls as it eats up all the road in front of you.
I considered doing an ECU tune, but figured it wasn't worth possibly voiding the extended warranty without which I would not keep the car. So there goes that.
Cons: Sucks on gas mileage. Heavy steering feel at low speeds. Comfort mode on the trans starts off in 2nd gear. Terrible stock sound system with the HK, but I'm adding a JBL Bass Pro in the spare tire well and an Audison Forza Amp/DSP with a speaker change out in the front as well as redoing the surrounds for the front speakers and adding noise insulation in the doors (probably about another $3-4K but worth it) There are a few rattles from the rear deck even with the stock HK system so I will have to isolate and eliminate those.
