This rare R500 caught my eye only 6 months ago. Yes, it has Distronic – and nearly every single option from the factory. Amazingly, it also comes in a beautiful Tanzanite blue as well. I've driven it no more than 2,000 miles, and had a transmission failure. To my peril, I found a used, 722.901 transmission with 60,000 miles and had it installed. Not even another 1,500 miles later, this transmission is experiencing the exact same issues as the first. I've had the conductor plate replaced (VGS 3) by Mercedes, but the issue remains. From here, the only other part that remains is the valve body... and when I had the shop swap the valve body, they broke the conductor plate (ouch!) –– now over $6000 in the hole... I'm done with it. To top it off, I've purchased a flashed conductor plate which will come with the car (although I'm not confident this will fix the issue, I wish you the best of luck!).

This car is parked at my home in Austin, TX – and needs to find a new owner. I'm beat. I can't believe it, but I surrender.
