Description:
Selling my 2003 Mercedes-Benz CL55 AMG is definitely bittersweet.
I’ve owned this car for 5 years — the longest I’ve ever kept a car — and it’s been more than just a vehicle.
I’ve built an entire Instagram page (@fast_cl55) around it, documenting every repair, maintenance, and upgrade over the years.
This CL55 isn’t just a car; it’s been a hobby, a project, and a big part of my life.
Letting it go is tough, but it’s time to find someone who will truly appreciate it.
Ownership & Extras
The car has been stored inside my house garage with the door closed, fully protected from sun, rain, and the elements.
It’s a weekend car with no accidents and all original panels intact.
I’ve documented nearly everything over the years on Instagram, so you can see exactly what’s been done.
The car comes with one updated Mercedes key.
For enthusiasts, I also have the original stock rims stored in my garage — the rear ones are on drag radials, and the front tires are in good condition — along with all stock exhaust components.
Additionally, I’ll include a passenger side fender that I sourced separately, which is crack-free and in great shape.
These extras are available depending on the offer.
Condition
The exterior paint has undergone a two-step paint correction and is ceramic coated, giving it a glossy look and protection.
Overall, I’d rate it a strong 7/10.
It shows beautifully, with just a small key mark behind the driver’s door from before my ownership, and tiny rust spots near the sunroof and trunk pillar.
Like many CLs of this generation, both front fenders have minor cracks near the mounting points — a very common issue since they’re plastic.
The cracks don’t affect alignment or drivability and are purely cosmetic.
I’ve already sourced a clean passenger side replacement fender, which will be included depending on the offer.
Inside, the black leather seats are well cared for, with minor ribbing on the front bottoms.
The headliner has been redone, and trim pieces have been replaced or restored, including some sourced all the way from London.
The COMAND system is original and fully functional, now with Bluetooth through the OEM AUX port.
The navigation system works perfectly, and heated/cooled seats function as intended.
Mechanically, the car is rock solid.
The engine and transmission are strong, with no active leaks.
Previous valve cover and oil filter housing leaks have been repaired.
The cooling system and A/C function perfectly.
The ABC suspension has been fully maintained — accumulators and fluid/filter replaced — and it’s never given me problems in five years.
Ride height adjusts perfectly, sport mode works, and overall it’s reliable and strong.
Brakes are medium-life, and the tires on the TSW Brema wheels are in good condition.
Features & Highlights
This is the facelift CL55 AMG, supercharged with 493hp and a smooth-shifting 5-speed automatic.
It’s tastefully modified with:
- Lowering links
- Secondary cat & resonator delete
- Mild ECU tune
These mods enhance performance without affecting reliability.
The TSW Brema wheels give the car a clean, aggressive stance, while the original stock rims remain available in the garage.
The car has been driven sparingly, mostly on weekends, and has no hidden surprises — everything works as it should.
Trades
While I’m primarily looking to sell, I would highly consider a trade for a W204 C63 coupe — that’s the one I really want.
Other AMG or M-car trades could be considered, but the C63 is my top priority.
Price: $14,000 OBO
This CL55 AMG is rare, well-documented, and cared for, with a presence in the Mercedes community thanks to the Instagram page.
I’m looking for a buyer who will value it as much as I do — someone who sees more than just a car, but a well-loved piece of Mercedes history.
Serious buyers only, please.
