1980 Mercedes 500 SL 43,720 miles, Silver Blue Metallic/blue interior/dark blue top, ordered with ABS, Becker Mexico cassette player, power antenna, central locking, headlight washer system, special order matching blue leather steering wheel wrap. Outstanding original condition, excellent soft and hard top. Collector owned since 1985 - no damage/accidents or rust. Has had cosmetic paint work to the left door and right fender (done a long time ago) - rest is original paint. A German market car that came to the US in 1985 at 31k kilometers, has done 23,900 miles in the US by two owners - always in a temperature-controlled environment. When new it went to AMG in Germany for their 2-valve high-performance cylinder heads (enlarged and polished ports, 50.1 camshafts, solid lifter valve train and lighter valve rockers) and AMG struts and springs. Driven very little in the last 5-6 years - will benefit from a service and being driven.
A spectacular example of the best and most desirable R107 in its original configuration. It was made more special and much rarer with the three authentic pre-merger AMG modifications qualifying it to display it's proper AMG badge. The complete cylinder head upgrade was very expensive and extremely rare, also the most significant AMG upgrade giving an additional 50 HP before the introduction of their 4 valve cylinder heads.
