You are welcome to come look at this car, drive it, or send a mechanic over to look at it. It is being sold from Tampa. You can come pick it up, or I will assist with shipping. (at your expense and responsibility.) Runs and drives pretty good (all cylinders have compression and spark) All photos were taken in the last few days.
I drove it solo from Louisville to Tampa a few months ago.
Known Issues -
I gave this car to my younger brother for the last 7-8 years, and I can't say he took very good care of it.
I have it back now, but life circumstances are forcing me to sell it.
Please note: This car is 32 years old. I'm going to tell you what I know, and try to take pics of anything I can.
Here are the known issues...
- Paint issues on corner of hard top, and a few other places. (pictured)
- The carpet is missing from rear floorboards. (My opinion is that it should all be replaced. Carpet costs $450 for entire interior. Rear passenger floorboard has some rust issues.)
- Probably needs a few fuel injectors (Injectors are about $40 each. All cylinders have spark and compression. It sat in a warehouse for a few years, so fuel distributor might need a rebuild to get it running perfect ($70-$80). As it hits higher rpm ranges, it misses less and sounds good.
- Some chrome peeling inside of rims, but still looks good to the casual observer.
- Linkage for seats needs fixed. (They don't adjust properly. Probably need lubed. I'm 5'10" and fit in the driver's seat comfortably.)
- AC system needs work. (No idea what is going on there. No one has ever tried to fix it since I've had it. Fan is loud.)
- Interior has some issues here and there. (see pics) Clear coat chips on console. Missing one fender chrome. You can buy a whole set for $80.
- Top has a few small rips, and mildew. The mechanism that opens the top needs a plastic piece replaced (see image). It functions fine, but I'd replace that part.
- There is a piece of trim not attached to the driver's side door. It is in the trunk.
- Some rust on driver's side rear floorboard, and also the trunk.
- Carpet in trunk needs replaced.
Also has new parts:
- New distributor cap and rotor.
- New spark plus and wires.
- New fuel filter and gas line to fuel filter.
- New exhaust, from the catalytic converter back
Ask any questions or see/drive it prior to bidding.
Car is sold from Florida, but has had an Indiana title for last 8 years.
I'd consider a trade for pickup truck + cash, or cash offers to end the auction early (while that is possible under ebay rules).
