Description:
Ok folks, most of you know this car was for sale a few months back and I purchased it. The only reason it is for sale now is because a car I have had my eye on for quite some time is now available. That is the only reason for this post. If I don't get my asking price I will just hold on to this amazing example.
On to the car........
2006 CLS 55. I'm the third owner. Clean car fax. 77k miles. Keyless, parktronic, dynamic seats and headlights, auto trunk, etc! I am a fanatic of the M113k platform as this is my 5th 55 car. I have a love affair with these cars. Every one of my cars is hand selected and this one is quite possibly the nicest example on the planet. I bought this car as one of the cleanest on the market, and it truly is. But, I made it even more perfect. The car was sent to Joe Scheler of Brixton Body. Joe is one of the best painters in the nation, bar none. While my car was in his shop it was roommates with a Porsche 959 and a 65 Ferrari for a full repaint. We took the front bumper off and had it re-sprayed because it had the factory license plate holder removed. We deleted the fog lights and made custom grills for the fog openings. Joe wet sanded the car, addressed a few other problem areas and ceramic painted the calipers "screaming yellow". We took apart the headlights, painted the bezels satin black and installed new lenses. After all was done a full ceramic coat was applied. We also detailed the entire engine bay and painted details to make it look show worthy. Front carbon lip and rear diffuser round out the exterior. Joe willing to discuss details about this car with potential buyers.
Only issues are some extremely minor rock chips and the rear passenger door had a few light scratches that were touched up. If I did not point these out, most people can't even notice, but they are there. Car is just about perfect from the outside. Same goes for the inside. Seats are in amazing shape, carpets are as new! Cup holder is showing its age but I have a brand new one in the box that will go with the new owner. The only thing Ieft to IMO would do is a flat bottom steering wheel. Never liked early AMG steering wheels.
After Joe's shop it came to my personal shop to get some tasteful motor upgrades. I personally did all the work. We did a 77UPD fixed pulley, 3 piece UPD idler set, PLM heat exchanger, 010 pump and 550 injectors. Prior to my ownership, the former owner had Kleeman mids installed as well as a very tastefully done center section with X-pipe made. We polished the rear pipes to a mirror shine. Car sounds absolutely incredible! All mods were carefully discussed with Lukas Edge at RaceIQ! He is willing to discuss details of this car with any potential buyer.
While it was at my shop we changed the S/C fluid, changed all 16 plugs (one step colder), brand new R1 concepts rotors and pads and seviced the tranny. After all this work was completed I called a good friend of mine Jeff Warren who is master STAR certified to run a full diagnostic as well as load the RaceIQ tune. Jeff spent the entire day going through all the systems and working with Tony at RaceIQ to make sure everything was perfect. Jeff is one of the best in the business and will be glad to talk to any interested parties about this car.
Car does have front Arnott bags and the rears are still factory. Car does not squat at all. No leaks, no issues. As it sat in Joe's shop for two months it maintained it height. The SBC is showing a fault code, but this is now covered by MB. This will be addressed before it's sold.
Stance is provided by a LowMo lowering module. Wheels are InCurve 20's that have been freshly powdercoated in gloss silver. 20x9 fronts 20x10 rears. Tires are brand new Hankooks, 305's in the rear.
Let me be clear! This is one of the nicest examples period. This is not some beat on used up boy racer version. This is a enthusiast owned, always garaged, open check book maintained example that is just about as perfect as it gets cosmetically and is perfect mechanically! It's the best of the best bar none! I bought this for top dollar and have put another $6k into her. I am firm on my price! If you don't like the price I don't really care......to find a car this perfect, with the right mods, right stance that will beat up on most everything on the road.....it's a bargain! I do have some paperwork, but not a ton. As I said before the only reason this is for sale is a Wiestec E55 I have had my eye on for years is coming up for sale and I have first right to refusal. I will be glad to discuss this car with interested parties.
The performance modifications that the owner performed work in perfect harmony together. While performing test drives in the vehicle to ensure it was running at its peak performance but in a safe manner and monitoring the various engine sensors values, I was pleased to see that the car had no problem flashing the well known amber triangle from a 60mph roll to beyond 80mph on a flat interstate road, however with the ESP enabled it continued to be very stable, straight and predictable.
The exhaust combination is difficult to put into words. It has a fantastic sound (especially at startup) and no drone whatsoever. If you want to drive casually you can easily keep the tone low and only enjoy hearing the music from the M113K inside the vehicle, but not approaching the point to have a normal conversation or attract unwanted attention. If you desire to have fun on the weekend, a slight press of the accelerator will allow you to hear the full sound of the AMG engine as they are well known for with a with a slight hint of an exotic car sound. Control units that were eligible for software updates such as the COMAND and other telematics components were all updated to the most recent versions and no fault codes or events are stored.
If you are looking for a CLS55 that could be used, if the buyer wished to do so, as a daily driver and is as smooth as they come on the road, but have an abundance of power that is able to be tapped in a second, this car is certain worth checking out. It will certainly not disappoint.
From performing services on the current owners previous M113K vehicles, I can say he has extremely high standards and will settle for nothing less than the best. The attention to detail makes this clear on first sight.
