Description:

This is a 1991 Mercedes with just under 160k miles. It has all the German engineering you could ever want packed into a sporty sedan. There's ABS, an airbag, 5-link rear suspension, a peppy inline 6 engine. We have had it over 10 years and have never been left on the side of the road. It is not perfect; but, it is a great daily driver. From what I can tell, it was leased for a about five years to a realtor. Then, a friend of the family bought it and kept it for 10 years as their Florida car. They seldom drove it as they would commute from Indiana to Florida in his Lincoln. So, it had very little use during that time and spent most of it's time in a boat storage barn. During the time we have had this car, it has been in a car port or garage unless it was parked at work.

I have always been a bit over the top with vehicle maintenance and this one is no exception.

The good:
10 years of detailed service records down to the last drop of oil, gallon of gas, tune-up.
Lots of new parts: radiator, tires, 1/2 shafts, etc.
Completely re-did the suspension about two years ago.
In the time that I have had it, I have replaced almost every single rubber part-bushings, gaskets, etc.
No visible rust. It's always been a southern car.
It is a Mercedes. There is a world of user-friendly tech support and discussion boards about these cars.

The bad:
The automatic HVAC system is non-functional. The AC works; the heat works. The German-over-engineered self-regulating-bio-feedback HVAC regulator does not. So, there is a winter/summer valve under the hood. It lets you have all the AC you want in the summer and lets you have all the heat you want in the winter.
The sunroof motor does not work well. It doesn't leak; but, it does not open all the way.

The ugly:
It is almost 30 years old.
The paint is o.k. from about twenty feet away; but, there are dings, chips and runs.
There is a small (quarter-sized) hole where the vinyl on the driver's seat has broken.
The knobs that adjust the electric seat backs are missing. Seats still move with the switches.
A bit of the interior trim is peeling away. Nothing major, just ugly.

We just got another car and we are moving soon. So, I am willing to throw in a bunch of nifty vehicle-specific tools, parts and goodies, many of which you probably won't need for another 100,000 miles, including a spring compressor, bushing press/puller, star-bit drives, manuals (written in the King's English), spare parts gleaned from salvage yards and re-worked.

My price is pretty firm and I am not interested in any help selling this car or taking payments.
