Description:
Hello. I am taking my staggered 20" wheels (8.5" F / 9.5" R) off and wanting to go back to a smaller OEM diameter (too many pothole dents) with a similar look to what I have now. I have been told that the AMG R230 chassis' wheels between 2003 and 2008 are interchangeable, but not the 2009-2011 R230 due to a change with the brakes/offset. Can anyone confirm this to be true?

These wheels are listed here if you want to view them...they are also extremely light weight. with the right tire setup on these wheels you will find that your car will ride and perform much better.
If you absolutely want to switch back to a 19 or 18, you can probably use a 8.5/9.5x19 combo, using a 245/35-19 and 285/30-19. The SL uses a low offset, so be sure that you use a reputable brand that offers their wheels with the correct offset.
Here is the link for the wheels I have for the SL in this forum

Hope this info helps.

Jimbo, great wheels, but I really want a 5-spoke "tuning fork" look.
Tim, thing is, I don't want to try to become an overnight keyboard expert on MBZ AMG wheels just to find the ones I buy don't *quite* fit right.
I am also an air-cooled Porsche guy and there is SO much more info on which OEM wheels will fit other year/models/offsets. No doubt because MBZ and Porsche are not putting out the same volume of cars each year ... even now it's not even close. : )
