I bought this car for a song from some online auction in Washington state, in the hopes it would run well. I had it shipped to the SF Bay Area. Problem is the engine is blown, it goes about 5 mph smoking like a chimney; my WAG is likely a ten grand bill from one of the indie shops around here to get the drivetrain sorted. I decided to take some of the exterior chrome (and the washer tank and washer foot pedal) for my other, working, W108, but otherwise, the car is complete. Body appears rust-free. My problem is I have nowhere to store this and right now it's sitting on the street probably days away from being taken to the junkyard. Instead of doing that I'd rather have it go to some actual Mercedes fan. So I'm giving it away for 1$. Problem is I don't have the title yet. But I do have a bill of sale and other documents proving that I bought the vehicle. If you can haul it off yourself ASAP, in the next few days, it's yours. We will sign another bill of sale, selling it from me to you for 1$ (one dollar). (Signed bill of sale is necessary as evidence of release of liability and ownership). Just to reiterate -- I am not parting out the car for you. You need to come take the whole car yourself. There are easily a few thousand dollars worth of good parts left in here. Again, I'm not doing it myself because this is the middle of the Bay Area where nobody has room to store anything. (If it was running well, I was planning on putting it in one of the parking spaces I rent in a private underground garage, but alas.)
