    Thanks Greg.

I simply started a spreadsheet in Excel that lists the following info: VIN# Ext color Int color Mileage Date data was collected (mo/yr) Location Asking Price/Value Comments I casually research cars for sale from various websites (Car Guru, Ebay, Auto Trader, BAT, etc.) but add only those that provide a VIN #. The comments section may contain number of owners (If stated), accident history (if any), or any other useful info that may impact value. I sort the list by mileage and plot the results (mileage vs value) which gives a pretty good indication of of market values along a trend line. To date I've captured 111 VIN numbers or 23.9% of all 2008 SL55's made for sale in NA. BTW..You'd be surprised how many cars resurface for sale over and over. When they do, I update the info associated with their VIN and resort the list. J.Chip PS: have a similar list for my 1991 560 SEC with over 200 VINs!

    Randy,

Glad I could help. I bet you'll find better engine performance with the right plugs. Read the NGK recommendation about gapping in one of the links posted. I'm sure re-gapping will be fine, but may suffer a little from excessive gap change. No doubt it can't be worse than those V-12 plugs...

My mechanic is totally embarrassed for the panic he caused me on this subject. He admitted he was in the middle of job when I called him. Now I just have to wait for my twisted back and knees to heal before starting this project again. I did that taking one plug out.....this is going to be fun! I may have to find a new indie tech, so I'll handle this job instead. Thanks again.

My 550e has had electrical gremlins since new. Its been in the shop for the last 2 months. They still can't figure it out...

My mileage ratings maybe skewed because of this.

550e plug in mileage for me is low 30’s when the hybrid works, and low 20’s when hybrid not functioning.
When hybrid not working, can get hybrid to kick in if I shut off the car and restart which is annoying.
