Hi; I was the first on the AMG forums to really take notice that these large intercoolers on either side of the car can easily be damaged by road debris as it is a poor design, not only that I was forever pulling leaves and other road debris out of them. They should really have mesh shields over them like most other cars so as to make the chances less that the intercoolers get damaged. After I started the first post on this subject two other forum members chimed in that they have ended up with stones hitting the intercooler to the tune of $2500.00 damage which is not covered under warranty as it is road hazard damage. Anyhow, I had complained a lot to Mercedes Customer service and the Dealer a lot about this and there was no acknowledgment and now just recently on the late 2018 builds they started adding these mesh shields at the factory like they should have all along. I ended up making my own from material purchased on Amazon. Curt

You scared me with the intercooler shields! What's up with that? Is there anything that I should tell the dealer to check? Is it a recall or a service bulletin about that? Thanks!

Ya, I'd like to, it would be a blast, I've just gotta get in better hand controls, I'm a paraplegic and drive with controls, right now the controls I have in are my portables and I would not feel comfortable on a road course with them. But a road couse would give me a excuse to burn off these conti tires, I know the Michelin super sports will work out even better on this car, going to have to up the size a little bit from 285's in the rear to 295's and then 255's in the front to 265's but I think it should work out ok.
