As I have exactly the same problem - copy protection message after "second" update, so my question is whether you obtained your card from dealer or purchased it on your own? I have mine from dealer but don't remember exactly how it was packed (rather plastic case foil wraped than paper envelope sealed).. Do you know original card should contain a QR code on sticker? I have been "discussing" with a dealer where I obtained the card from and they tell me problems comes because use this card for another data, what is not true. Unfortunatelly I used this card on Download card manager just for make a backup of data; It was used previously for map update guarantee only. So backup I made during this "second" update is useless.
