Hey, came across your post about the audio upgrade. Would you be able to send me the photos and the wiring diagram for the speakers if you still have it? Much appreciated! And how much of a difference would you think going with a different amp, I was looking at an Infinity Primus 9004A given it's price, would make?

Thanks for the reply, years ago. I've avoided doing anything to the sound system as all my money has been going into my motorcycle. Now the time has come but I see the pics/server is down. So I think I'm starting all over again unless you are still around and have the run through still available.

    Hello again, pinebaron

Basically i got 9 channel OEM amplifier with 8 amplified channels and one for sub amplifier. All the channels can be equalised to each speaker with usb cable and pc software. I'll set it after my harman becker OEM amp, will try to leave all existing cables, just extend them to new amp and from it to speaker cables. I won't change any speakers, at least for the moment, because i think these ones can make a difference with new amp. What i really need to know is all the speaker wiring, is there any crossovers fitted originally by mercedes, or they wired separately from becker amp. Could you send all the progress pictures to my email? I'd be grateful, because it would save me lots of time.

    Thanks Vy

    Hello mate,
I was reading your post from 2009 about e class speaker replacement, and cannot see any pictures. Would you still have them, because i got audison prima 8.9bit amplifier and trying to connect it after my harman becker amp, but cannot find any help with wiring. Would be nice if you could help me with that, i already starting to have a big headache from it.

Hi. 5 years ago you wrote a piece about upgrading your W211's sound system. The pictures are great. I want to make sure I'm understanding this correctly. You basically inserted your RF 4ch amp in between the OEM speakers and the OEM amp, right? My main question is in grounding. The rear batter has a grounding bolt near it on the right side, but you grounded your amp to the frame under the dvd/nav on the left. Do you have any noise, whining, or common ground problems because of that? Again, thanks for the detail and pictures, it is greatly appreciated.

Oilburner6, thanks for the update. Please keep me posted; I pray I dont need the information for several years. But why would gaskets wear out, I cannot understand unless the vehicle has had prior surgery, I am speculating nevertheless. Your incident prompted me to check everything under the hood again over the weekend. I usually blow out, at least monthly, any dust with an air compressor to keep things spotless, though, areas around the lower end of the dipstick are quite packed, however one can see top of lower engine shroud, fortunately it was clear of oil. I guess that's where your oil is collecting.

It may seem obvious, but I assume your oil level is right, these engines, as others don't like overfills. Did you try draining 'some oil' off?

Thxs Pine Baron for your reply. Took e320 to my Indy mechanic, and we went thru his Mitchell's on line application. Apparently our vehicles do have an internal drain tracks that dump into a internal V drain and out to more than 4 external drain ports. The incident at hand has oil draining at a drain port on the driver side, back by the oil dipstick about 5 inches up and 2 inches forward from that point. He also look above and below for external leaks. He also used a mini camera to view under the turbo. Have appt. for this friday. They will first tackle a possible leak on a return line that's out of view and runs forward under the turbo. There was some evidence from the camera that its a major contenter for the leak. I already did the turbo seals. If the turbo line isn't the problem. They may next tackle the oil cooler gaskets. This could get expensive.

I know that you have been a member for sometime, and we share the same vehicle...I just posted this thread and am interested in your thinking from one jersey guy to another.

I have a major oil leak in my 07’ E320 Bluetec 95kmiles. I have a stream of oil coming out(engine running) from an apparent drain hole appx. 6 inches above and slightlyforward of the oil dipstick base (driver side). Spoke to my Indy mechanic on the phone and he seems to think that is aninternal drain track of some sort. Afterreading hundreds of historical posts, I’m thinking that I have the preverbal“rear engine oil seal leak”. This is mysixth diesel engine car and never experienced this malady. I have changed theoil filter, turbo seals, replaced the oil cap per serv. Bulletin with a newerbetter sealed cap. No change. Thebalance of the engine is spotless, with no evidence of other leaks. Looking for feedback, confirmation andpossible repair estimate if I’m correct.
