You've done some outstanding work on your cars and I've read dozens of your post, so I know you're an expert.

Would you please give me, a newbie, some advice b4 I invest in a new set of tires?

I just bought and refurbished the Carlsson 1/11 BE wheels from 2005 w/ Front=20x9+ET40 and Rear=20x10.5+ET45.

Carlsson's official recommendation on the tires and spacers continues to be Front=255/30/20+ET24 via 16mm spacer and Rear=305/25/20+ET35 via 10mm spacer.

I really like the look of the Front=245/35/20 and Rear=295/30/20. My SL500 (AMG body) has been lowered a bit by the previous owner.

My question, regardless of whether I have to raise or lower again, can I buy and ride with the 245/35s and 295/30s without causing problems (rubbing, esp, etc.)??

Havoc, that SL is drool-worthy. I'm in the mkt for a hot silver one and live in S. OC so plmk if/when you're ready to part. btw as a navy pilot in the 90s I was glad to do my part eliminating terrorists ))
