Hello, I am contacting you specifically for help because I just can't decide whether to have the Renntech leveling module installed by Renntech (I live a few miles from their shop in Florida) or whether to install lowering links myself. The MB dealer refused to do it, as did Renntech, who will only install the module.

I've owned SL's since the late 1970's and have always done my own routine maintenance, oil changes, filters, etc. I own a BMW K1200LT touring motorcycle (which is quite maintenance intensive) and do all the work on it as well. But taking on the complex suspension of an almost brand new $112,000 car is something else. I guess I need a few direct words of encouragement.

MY SL is a 2009, the Silver Arrow edition, and I'm apprehensive about doing the work myself even though I prefer the linkswhich are simple, do not involve getting behind the dashboard to splice wires, and from what I've ready, pretty much foolproof.

My name is Ray Carulli, I live in Hobe Sound, Florida, and am asking a favor. If I order the links would you be willing to help me by answering questions I may have either prior to or during installation? From your postings it's obvious that you have a lot of good experience.

I know one thing I would ask is what to expect once I get the wheels off and begin with removal of the original links. From there it depends on what problems I may or may not encounter. You've been very clear in describing how you set up your new links and I would follow the same procedure.

If it is less trouble for you, I would gladly phone. If you prefer email, that's fine also.

In any event, and regardless of your response, thanks for all your informative posts and I hope I'm not causing you to go too far out of your way.
