Hi Over the edge, I have an '03 SL55.

I was wondering how labor intensive and difficult was it to remove your rear diff? The drain bolt area may have been over torqued. There is a extremely small hairline crack but is not leaking. If I need to replace the housing, want to find out how involved is it to remove it since i would most likely have to replace the housing.

Also, did you replace your diff with a quaife LSD? Was it difficult? Did you have a MB maintenance manual to do this?
