    Hello
    Thank you
The sunroof that I installed was removed from Mercedes W140.
I would do it again. It was a bit of a hassle, but I think it was not as bad and worth it.

Just keep in mind to take your time and that there is a chance that you might get a crease (or small buckle) in the roof when you will be pushing the front end of the sunroof opening up (to giving it a curve).
When I did mine, I ended up with a small little dent, which was repaired and was not a big deal since the entire car was being repainted.

I took my time and slowly was pushing it up for 2 days, leaving it under tension overnight, etc...'

    Good luck

Hey there , thanks for starting the thread with all the info from your rebuild.

    one word: inspiring

if you were to do it over again, would you install the glass sunroof assembly from Mercedes W140, or did it end up as a hassle?
    I would be installing on a g550 2015

ive also seen that a w124 may also work? https://www.benzworld.org/forums/g-c...l-glass-3.html

Yes, maybe there is a unit out there that has a new look and fits the 2002 radio crate.

    Thank you

Thank you for quick response. Guess I will keep looking because I am not in a position to take the dash out.
I forgot to tell you what a beautiful G Wagon you are building. Thanks again.

    Hello
I purchased the radio that was advertised for 2005-2007 Mercedes W203 (they have similar style and size radios).
The only issue I see you will have is making the radio fit in to your 2002 G500 radio crate, the black plastic in the dash that holds the radio, climate controls and hazards switch.
I had my dash off, so I combined W203 white crate with my original lower portion where the ashtray goes.
There might be a way to make the face-lifted style radio fit in to the original 2002 G500 radio crate, but I do not know what it will take.

Let me know if this was helpful.

Hello from New Mexico. I need help. I have purchased and sent back three Radios from Ebay. They said that they were useable
on my 2002 G500 but all were mounted wrong. My G uses the same mount as yours and I was wondering if you could give me the
model number and the seller on the one you used? Thanks in advance Dave Sword [email protected]

    Hello
No, I did not do anything with differential cables.
Are you referring to brake lines? I just installed stock G63 lines that came with the G63 calipers.
Maybe someday I will replace the brake lines with braided ones, but have not thought about that yet.
    Thank you

    Hi Alex,

I don't want to bother you with little questions, but I think I saw that you did something with your differential cables. Did you replace those? I would like to buy some oem or original or braided (improved) tubes for the differential locking system. Do you have any part numbers or diagram or a supplier that you used?

She's looking great. You deserve all the kudos you're getting on this project.

    Sincerely,
    Colin

    Hello
    Thank you
As far as ECU, I would only buy one from the dealer. It will then probably need to be programed to your vehicle.
You could buy a used one on eBay or wrecking yard, but you dont know if it will match your car or will have any issues.
