Been so long I'm not 100% sure. They are not genuine Carlsson parts. I'm thinking it was most likely formymercedes.com where I purchased them.

Thanks for the heads up. I'm eventually going to buy one of the lids that have burlwood around the edges but still have a padded leather top. I don't think setting my elbow on wood would feel too great.

I've seen those RENNtech exhausts on there too. Good buy! I've already got an Eisenmann race sitting in my garage but I don't want a loud car until its SC'ed. That answers your last question as well.

    suicidal...
just thought i'd let you know, there's a burlwood trim piece -- a center console lid cover-- on ebay. sold by CKPERFORMANCE in the U.K. I think the price is $125- it's made to be "glued" to the top of the console, has cut-outs for the console pulls/handles.
considering you have the wood steering wheel and door pulls, you might like more walnut veneer in your ride.
also, i bought the renntech axle-back from ebay (renntechheadquarters...in florida) made by sebring / remus. after installing it, it seems to me to be a bit louder than the remus sport, not quite as loud as a race muff..anyway, the price is right, and they have 1 more available @ $650. it sounds awesome, and it's a good $300 less than the eisenmann race...don't know if you have the race muff yet listed in your sig., so just a heads up. the tips look good too..they're square, double-wall, etc. i'll post a pic soon.
have you installed the HPS SC yet?

    suicidal,
i'm gonna pull the trigger on that "brand new" hps gen 1 on S.F. craigslist...i think some others have asked you about this and that regarding that S.C.
anyway, it's an E55 kit. any difference? will it fit on my
'01 E430? the seller says that it's just a matter of a few "lines" that need to be changed.
other than that, does the kit come with fuel pump, water resevoir, everything ready to go? i want this thing bad after reading your and nitrogenbalance success after porting.
the plan is to acquire the kit and ship it to Missouri for porting. i almost bought a gen 2 kit a couple months ago, whew! glad i didn't. apparently, the gen 1 is a good kit for the 4.3 engine.
also thinking hard about "AMS" log headers. ohlord's company? or omeyhomey? whatever. i've heard good things about the headers (N/A 7-10 hp gains with no ecu mod) and with the s.c. it will go up in %.
any suggestions would be appreciated. how's your setup finally? did you get your s.c. installed. i checked out your kleeman header post, that's ****ty business for the $$$ they charge. glad it worked out in the end, and the coating looks great.
i'm gonna stick with shorty headers bolted to stock downpipe to keep $$$ down.
i figure i'd be happy with 375 hp.
enough to burn the 235's off the back wheel ;-)
