    Hi vettdvr

I've been reading your posts on your past problems with the E 500 Airmatic shock issues.

    When you mention
"New air springs both sides replaced"
is at the same as replacing both airmatic shocks?

Last April I brought my car in for the same issue my car was sitting low and the dealer replaced the left rear side airmatic shock. I also received a hefty bill.

Could you offer any insight into this issue? From what I understand a leak in the bag could be causing the compressor to burnout. I'm wondering if they misdiagnose the problem back last April. Recently I've been experiencing the same problems and I'm taking the car in tomorrow. Any insight into this problem would be very much appreciated.

    Thx

I bought a new filter for my E500 from the dealer and 4 qts of fluid. There are two types one for the E500 and the newer fluid. Then new fluid is compatable with the E500 and the old is being discontinued. I pulled the pan cleaned and replaced the fluid. NOTE there is a large magnet that must be reinstalled in the pan. Also before you drain buy the dipstick tool and measure exactly the amount. Then pull and clean as any other transmission. Top off with correct amount of fluid.

If you change the rear transmission mount you should also change BOTh engine mounts.

ECU dealer software may have a charge if it isn't in a TSB.

The $70 battery is for the Aux battery only not the main battery. The dealer will not find these numbers.

    For the Aux battery.

Autozone GTX 14-BS battery this should be the exact replacement for $69.99
    GTX 14-BX FG AGM

    Walmart everstart Maxx 14-BS AGM
Interstate CYTX 14-BS (at local firestone)
    Delco GTX 14-BS
Napa 740-1866?? Not sure if # is correct
    Yacht CTX12-BS ETX-12/12BS
    Sears CB12C-A
    Yuasa YB12AL-A2

    Possible just 14-BS will work.

    Battery dimensions

    WxDxH 6”x3 ”+ x 6”

Note + Terminal is on right side when looking at the back side of the battery.

For the main battery go to Carquest and buy the AGM European direct replacement for about $210.
