The choice of computer is what you don't have.
The way you have to go about getting this to work, is by using the kits that the vendors supply. You should stay away from external hard drive kits, they don't work. The ones with internal hard drives, the vendor will tell you which laptops you can use, usually a Dell 600 series. These are cheap, sometimes less than $200.
Once you get the software, you only have to worry about activation, but there's an included video that shows you how to do this.
