Into/Advice (ml430)
Hello world!
Never really thought I'd join the community, but now that I officially own my 1st car, an 1999 ML430 I feel welcome.
I turned 20 a couple of months ago and just inherited an the ML430 which used to belong to a REALLY close, recently deceased uncle of mine.
The fam only thought it would be fair for me to have one of his cars at a cheap deal of around $1400.
The car is currently at 240,000 miles. My uncle used to drive the car from Sacramento to Santa Clara (almost 2 hour drive one way) during weekdays at least for work which explains the miles. Knowing him, he took really good care of the car and put serious money into making sure it still runs even though he had much more expensive cars ('01 ML55, '01 740IL, '05 Jetta)
Anyways so far i've had to replace the battery because it hasn't been driven in 9 months, cost around $170.
Now i'm having to deal with the front tires which are losing tread, what are some good used ones? Budget is $200 for both.
And out of curiosity who else here runs their MLs past 200k? Is there something I should watch out for

Most importantly, with a 98-99 ML, you should have two working keys for this truck. If you only have one and you lose it, they make you replace everything, including having t buy two new keys.
