Is mbrace going to 5yrs. Free for 2016

I was reading the GTS forum and they are talking about mbrace going to 5yrs free for 2016 cars. Has anyone heard about this?
I think all new cars are just 6 mo. free so if it is true on the GTS maybe the C63s will get it also.

Yep... It's listed in the C-Class W205 MY16 order guide, right in the front:

I am trying it right now and I dont find it to be that special for the amount of money it costs. The wireless internet is slow as hell, locating the car takes a while, sometimes it wont even locate it. The only two things I like about it is the concierge service and the remote lock/unlock feature. If I cant find a better use for it I am not subscribing to it in the future.

If it is free then I would be happy with it, good for those buying in 2016!

There are some limited functional uses standard for MY 16. However, if you want remote start you will have to take the upgraded package.

Same here. I like the send2benz function and wish it was free like the BMW app. I love that I can send a location to my car's navigation in a matter of seconds so when I get there, it pops on my screen and I'm immediately on my way. But I don't think I'll subscribe just for that service.

+1

That is about the only use I have found for the Mbrace stuff as well and it is definitely not worth hundreds of dollars per year.
