Standard C63 exhaust system
Contrary to some of the statements in reviews, the standard C63 here in the US does not have exhaust modes. The exhaust system is fixed. There are no exhaust valves and the mufflers are simply one mode - not the two chamber mufflers.
I almost always modify the exhaust systems in my cars - including the other AMG's I have owned. While the basic sound from my W205 is good, I wanted it snarlier and louder.
The exhaust pipe is quite large in diameter and the bends are made without any crimping of the pipe - well done AMG. However the short outlet from the muffler to the exhaust tips is smaller in diameter. Not good.
I installed a 2" diameter muffler bypass cut-out system in each muffler that operates in parallel to the regular muffler. The sound is terrific. The additional outlet provides enough flow to compensate for the restricted flow from the mufflers.
The sound is terrific. I will try to record and post it.
Mainly I wanted to alert members here that there are three different muffler systems for the C63.
What is the third one?
