Dude, it's 10. The only way MS wins is if today's result is reversed and MS wins while FA scores 0 points. But FA and Renault will no doubt play it safe and put the lead Renault safe and in the points.

I'm here...i saw the race live..sigh

I'll quote a member from a tifosi forum for this one

"Guys(& gals), I've only just switched my computer on, such was my disappointment. But coming here has made me feel much better in so many ways. Losing never comes easy. In fact, it hurts like hell, but the one thing that separates Tifosi from everyone else is the very thing that makes MS & Ferrari something very special - We are a FAMILY.

That is why we are all here now when other boards would be silent. That's why the trolls will come to taunt. And that is why I couldn't give a damn about what the non-Tifosi may say today. We are the greatest team, we have the greatest champion and we can be proud of our family.

Thank you, one & all Tifosi. "

When i saw the smoke from the corner of the TV- i just bit my lip, probably one of the hardess moments...so close yet, yet an engine failure- first since France 2000...

definatly a harsh way to go out of the chapionship, also career wise. However lets not forget all those championships, and all those great victories. For me he was the greatest f1 driver, however, life goes on, lets hope that kimi will keep the wins and the championships coming.

Hmm what do you mean my side stepped this one ?

I dont blame anyone in the team..it's just racing..**** happens. Although to be honest with you, i had this 'gut' feeling that this was going to happen. I was so nerves...iv always said, 'i think spa would have been a key victory for Ferrari...it would have played a huge roll' and now it has come back to haunt us....yet something in me told/tells me we will/would win....oh well to Brazil we go...I would love to see MS one more time on the top podium...and i wanted to go to Brazil to see him be crowned what a shame....odds of that happening are 1/1000 ... but its 'racing' so you never know...

As for next year, i like Kimi. He's a fast driver..but i like Massa too...but none of them have won my heart like MS did/has. I guess next year i wont prefer a driver within the Ferrari squat, as longes Ferrari wins the WCC/WDC kudos to them...

I would have loved to see JPM in a Ferrari to bad he out spoke bad about them...

Gents, it's not over til it's over. All it takes is another Alonso DNF, or a driver putting Alonso off the track in Brazil, coupled with a Schumacher win.

If Ferrari take the first row in qualifying with Alonso anywhere in the second row... watch out. Alonso might even put himself out of the race. Anything could happen, and has.

Remember Suzuka, 1989? Remember Suzuka, 1990?

Yeah, what is up with his little dances or whatever? His teammates must feel about like a kid at the school picnic when his dad shows up in plaid shorts, white leather disco shoes and black socks. I hope Ron Dennis put something in the contract that forbids Alonso from being able to do that.

what are the chances of an alonso dnf ?
very very very unlikley.
I just hope MS wins his final race, I hope R Dennis sorts out Alonso's attitude so he wouldnt be an embaresment to MCLAREN and their fans.

i agree, it aint over yet.
it would be nice if kimi did shumi a favor and took alonso out (hes the only 1 fast enough to be around alonso and hes from a different team)

If Kimi did that, he would score A LOT of kudos in my book...he will be my next fav driver

of course...it feels a bit like cheating...hahaha oh well at the end of the day, the number will be rememberd over everything --although its not a good way to win the 8th...id say it rains and fonzi crashes out... then it was all driver error

Alonso will give it all in quali, and then hang on to whatever spot he gets at the start. the chances of him getting a DNF are lower than in a regular race, because he'll have a slightly detuned engine to minimize the chance of it blowing up, he won't be in a hurry to catch anyone, and his fuel strategy does not have to be aggressive. He has a HUGE upper hand. If he outqualifies MS, the advantage is even greater.

Look at it this way and weep:

Excluding his 2 DNF's (Hungary and Monza), Alonso has only been beaten by 6 drivers this season. He has beat MS in 60% of the races, Massa 80%, Fisi 87%, Trulli, Kimi and Button 93%. EVERY OTHER DRIVER he has beaten handily on 100% of the races.

And look at who the others are, along with my subjective chances of them beating Alonso:

Rubens 5%
De la Rosa 5%
Ralph 2%
Kubica 5%
Heidfeld 2%
Webber 0%
Nico 0%
DC 0%
Doornbos 0%
Speed 0%
Liuzzi 0%
Sato 0%
Yamamoto 0%

Even if these 6 drivers were to beat FA in Brazil, he would still place seventh, and still be WDC. Realistically, 5th place is about the WORSE he can do. Even if he is touched on the start and has to come in for a new nose... even if he gets a flat tyre, last to 5th is entirely realistic (Massa, Raikonnen, Button have all done it this year). So there you go. The fat lady has sung.

All this time we were discussing how Ferrari would push Alonso off the road. No one anticipated how Renault would dispose of Schumacher.

MS was clearly by Fisichella before the turn in to turn one. I've reviewed the slo-mos several times on my DVD recorder, and it's clear Fisichella's RF wing endplate scrubbed MS' LR tire, puncturing it.

We can argue if this was on purpose. But the commentators clearly surmised that it was Fisi's job not to let Michael past.

First there was the blocking; and then when that didn't appear to be adequate he went for the 'hit'...and the kill.

Very well done. I think Fisi proved his ability and willingness to be a team player....

And who said that F1 racing wasn't a contact sport....

No-No, I have to disagree on this one. I didn't see anything intentional. Just good clean racing. MS has always passed closely. Fisi was just nudging him a farewell. No Liuzzi's turn in on (who was it? Kubica?) That was BAD driving on Liuzzi's part.
