which coolant to use on C43

i have seen different color coolants available at the local parts store and doing some research, i found out why they are different in color (green, yellow and orange), some contain silicate and some dont, etc. and from reading, they said that using the wrong type of coolant can prematurely damage the parts such as the water pump etc. which brand and color of off the shelf coolant should i be using for my C43. any advice would be greatly appreciated. i recent'y flushed my coolant and refilled with orange color and am worried that i put in the wrong type.

Use only the MB coolant. Some of the others can damage aluminum and some of the seals.

MB Coolant?

The orange coolant is the correct type. It's extended use coolant....5 yr., 150K miles. It contains the chemicals necessary to keep all the internal parts happy for that period of time. MB Coolant? When my radiator leaked under warranty they replaced it and refilled with the green coolant which is not extended use and I don't know if it was even MB fluid. If it is, it's for older cars before the extended use coolant became the norm. I replaced it with the orange right away. You can replace green with orange but not orange with green.

Exclamation MBZ coolant is the right choice.

It's expensive, but worth it. Don't go entirely by color (dyes can do all sorts of things), go by specification.
You can buy the stuff at the dealer but you'll pay extra; autohausaz.com and autopartswarehouse.com both have it. It's still expensive, but it's no place to skimp.

Take care and enjoy the ride,
Greg

Zerex G 05 is the same formulation, it's cheaper, it's available at most auto supply places, and it's approved by MB for use in their engines.
