early oil change worth it?
Will be getting my 08 E-550 4-matic Sport in a week or so. I know this has been debated on every car site in the world but someone recently posted they thought they should change their oil on their new MB at 1,000 mi. and thereafter follow the 13,000 maintenance recommendation. Is there any evidence this is worth the cost? I intend to keep the car for 5-6 years and most driving will be interstate higher speed driving.

In a word....no. But it may give you peace of mind (even though it's unwarranted). I'm at 126K miles with my C320 (mostly freeway driving) and it hasn't started using oil yet and I've been following the 13K FSS change schedule. If you want peace of mind you'd be better off getting your oil analyzed ($20 each time).
