Phantom headlights???
A neighbor friend who owns a 2103 S350 (and not a member of MBWorld) called this evening after experiencing a very strange event with his car. I offered to describe his experience in this post hoping that someone has had a similar experience and offer an explanation.
He drove the car approx 12 miles, parked the car, and several hours later found the headlights on. The switch was in the "A" position, the engine was turned off, and yet the headlights were on. The car had either; a) not turned off the lights when the car was parked or b) had mysteriously turned the lights on with the engine not running.
The other strange thing was that the idiot light for the emergency brake was illuminated yet the emergency brake was not engaged.
The car would not start. The assumption is that the battery is dead. He is calling MB Roadside Assistance in the morning.
Has anyone else experienced this phenominum?
