MB Tech Interesting 209 Issue
Today the weather in FLA hit 85, after a lot of stop and go driving I stopped at draw bridge and after about 5 mins I felt a weird vibration go through the car, I traced it to the cooling fan swithcing to high speed. I noticed that this fan is a new design as there not a normal engine fan and aux. cooling fans only a giant electric fan. After examining the fan I saw there was a small metal clip on one of the blades of the fan I guess it's a balancing weight. Have you encountered this problem and is there a way to balance this out or do I have to go the replacement route?Any TSB issued.

I've replaced a handful of S500 cooling fans (same set-up as your car) due to the fan shaft wearing out, causing the fan to wobble and rub on the shroud. But this is the first I've heard of a vibration. I don't know where to lead you on this one, no bulletins issued that I'm aware of. Let me know the outcome.

I already talked to you about a vibrating cooling fan:
If I were you I would not bother, yust go see your dealer and let them replace it. The car is under warranty.

My 209 is only two weeks old and as you know the cooling fan system is of a totally different design...what car/model did you have the fan problem with?
