Help needed: when upgraded, headlight autoleveling and cornering features do not work
I have a 2005 E55 with dynamic xenon headlights (lights turn with the steering). I replaced them with the newer headlights (2007-2009) that have the above feature.
Unfortunately the headlight became totally static. That means that I lost the auto leveling and the light turning feature. The local dealer has no clue
Do I need to install extra components? Any information in this regards will be appreciated.

I would check the wiring diagrams between your car and the newer model and make sure that none of the wires changed positions and possibly need to be swapped around in one of the connectors..

When I recently changed an HVAC control unit and a row of buttons for heated seats, EPC on/off, etc., the WIS instructions were to save the data stored in the old component with STAR and transfer that data to the new component. Same thing possibly for your headlights. "Computing" is really pervasive in these cars.
