How long to Cats usually last? For E55

My car is at the shop for Service A and I complained about a couple of things, an exhaust ratling and a small vibration.

Cats need to be replaced (at 67k miles) and bushings too, service guy says they are totally gone. Both are covered under extended warranty, so I can relax. How long do these items usually last?

BTW, any idea how much a repair like this would be?

You should find out what killed your cat(hehe), I killed one in me MR2 by running to rich(it melted) sometime the insides just fall apart, but somthing caused it. Also the CAT is cover'ed by the EPA emission waranty; 8yr 80,000 miles

The exhaust was rattling because the honeycomb in the cat broke apart, and the pieces were rattling around. Not an uncommon problem. The bushings are much more common, and they're probably going to need replacement every 50K miles or so.
