hi, i have a 2004 cl600 and am trying to find the best rear end fluid to use. the manual recomends hypoid gear oil sae 85w-90w. i've read posts recomending mobil 1 75w-90w. any opinions?

The fully synthetic oil can also be used without reservation for rear axle gears manufactured before 04.11.2001.

A mixture of old and new oil would not affect the basic functions, such as wear resistance, leak tightness etc. of the rear axle gear, should however, be avoided because of the better fuel economy behavior.
