Keyless go and remote lock unlock working intermittently
I recently purchased a 2003 CLK and it has keyless go. It was working fine for a couple of weeks, but then it started not unlocking the drivers side door when I pull on the handle. It seems to have gotten worse. Now it rarely ever unlocks the doors when I pull on them, and the start button rarely works either. Today, even the lock and unlock buttons on the remote are not working every time.
I figured it was the battery, so I bought a new set and replaced them. The new batteries didn't change anything. I checked the voltage on the batteries and they are putting out 3 volts each like they should.
Any ideas? Do these keys wear out?

no to my knowledge, probably the shifter starting button need to be replaced also.
btw I had the same problem and was resolved with new parts.

I solved the problem. For anyone in the future with a similar problem it turned out the batteries were no making a good connection in the remote causing it to intermittently work. I folded a piece of foil about 4 times and sandwiched it in between the 2 batteries then put them back in the remote. It now works fine. Good thing I did not start replacing door handles in the car!
