EPC Net registration

Is there a secret to making this work?

I have tried several times.

Two different computers, two different networks, reinstalled Java, check my speed and latency.

Even tried a different browser (Chrome)

Help!

Try this

Remove all versions of JAVA on your computer using add or remove programs or programs and features in the control panel.

Go to http://www.java.com/en/download/manual_v6.jsp

Download the 32 BIT version of JAVA, version 38, install and retry EPC.net.

32 BIT is required for EPC.net and version 6.

Version 7 or 64bit versions are not supported at this time.

On my todo list for later.

Thanks!

I have had no success subscribing to EPC Online.
I have removed Java and reinstalled Java version 6.38 32 bit version.
My computer is set up with Win 7, 32 bit version, and I am using IE-9 32 bit version.
I tested my Internet connection and it is 25 MB download speed with Ping time of 25 ms to 35 ms for servers in New Jersey.

Still playing.

I know this is an MB technical forum, and not a computer technical forum, . . . .

. . . . But . . . . .

Just how the hell does someone develop a Java application, where the whole purpose of Java is so applications can be portable across different hardware and operating system software platforms, and end up with a system that only works on such a limited set of Java installations on such a limited set of hardware?

Answer

Only Daimler could answer that question, and odds are lower than zero of that happening.

Yea, just venting!

Probably some developer has built himself a lifetime of employment making sure the problem is not easily fixed.

In a couple of week, I will have a spare PC and I will do a clean build and see if that works.
