poorly CLK55!!!

after some advice?
my CLK55 transmission rad died and i was told water contaminated the gear fluid and entered gear box, the car was run couple of hundred yards after fluid emptied.
the car was recovered and after new rad and fluid fitted it was returned and i was told box should be ok.
after 1 week, today the box started misbehaving, juddering on gear changes and then 2 bangs as what appeared to be a clutch engaging roughly so i limped the car home (approx 1-2 miles) at crawl speed (less than 20mph), half way home the engine manage lamp came on ( also noticed a whine that changed with engine speed and also present when in N and P, similar to the whine when the power steering fluid is low).

only had the car few weeks when it was returned the mechanics seem certain the origional failure of the rad would not cause damage to the box and wonder if anyone else has had similar problems.

any advise would be very much appreciated as i'm feeling pretty sick at mo.

More than likely the trans is pooched. When coolant comes into contact with friction linings the friction linings usually disintegrate. This is likely the cause of your gear shift shuttering. Coolant also has a very low coefficient of lubrication - it's likely responsible for the whining you are hearing.

I wish I could make you happy however I'm afraid you've got a major problem on your hands. Good luck with the repairs.
