How are you guys doing I was wondering if anyone could tell me where the aux fan relay is located on a 1992 300 sl.I replaced the radiator a few years ago and a new clutch fan and thermostat,the expansion tank has a slight leak when the car is hot and a few drops come out at the joint between the top of the bottle and the bottom.I will be replacing the bottle Sun.I hope that fixes the problem.The problem is at 90 degrees the car runs normal cruising but in stop and go traffic the temp goes from 85 c to 100 pretty fast never goes above 105 or so but it worries me.I hope the slight leak is the problem.Thanks for any input.Peter

relay box is on the left hand engine compartment , on 1992 MY the aux fan relays ( there is actually 3 relays for the fan ) , there is three rows in the box , on one row there is 5 relays , the middle one is for the aux fan , the middle row there is two relays on the opposite side of the fuses , both relays are for the fan ( stage 1 and stage 2 ) .... i know its a bit complicated but i couldnt post a photo gd luck

Thanks a lot for the info.I an replacing my coolant bottle today and hopefully that will take care of the overheating problem.If not will check on the relays next.Thanks again. Peter

OK so I put a new coolant bottle in my car and now the coolant level light stays on its very dim but it is still on and the coolant is full and the car does not seem to run any cooler.It still goes up to 105 c when I am in stop and go traffic in 95 degree heat.Any ideas new fan new thermostat 3 year old radiator I dont know what to do.Thanks Peter

So I fixed the coolant level light being on but the car still runs hot.90 c driving around and up to 105 in stop and go traffic What do you think
