rear dvd sound to aftermarket dvd nav sys

Hi folks, hope you can help me. How can I connect my front Pioneer dvd to mbz rear fold down dvd monitor? I already tried to connect the rca cables from the front dvd to the rear dvd player's front rca inputs. I have an '02 ML500. Thanks.
