A question about asking a dealer this question

"I would like to look at the service manual for my ________. "

Has anyone done that? I have never been turned down at any dealer for any item I have ever worked on. I have not tried it at a Mercedes dealer yet.

If you're referring to the internal manual/tech information used by the dealership's service personnel, I doubt they will share that resource with you.

The system is called WIS - Workshop Information System. It is available to the public at https://www.startekinfo.com/StarTek/index.jsp. There is a charge. 24 hours is $60.00 US. It is also available for longer periods (at higher cost of course). The system is excellent, but it helps if you are familiar with the M-B index system. And it is meant for trained technicians. so simple things are sometimes not included under the assumption that the user is experienced in the brand and probably has had regular training.
