Cleaning rearview camera lens

'14 GL450. Rear camera lens has some schmutz on it. I cleaned it once before by having my lovely wife sit in the car and put it in reverse to get the camera to pop open. Not exactly a safety moment. I tried yday to shut the car off while in reverse but it went into neutral. Is there a way for one person to get the camera to open for cleaning? Thanks.

Saw this in another post so see if it's the same for our SUVs:

Went to System (in COMMAND) and at the bottom of the screen on the left was SETTINGS and clicking on that gave a menu that had 360* Camera. I elected to OPEN it and heard it open. Went to the back of the vehicle and it was open.

I could not close it using the menu. I backed out of the driveway and went around the block and parked. It was closed by then.

Thanks. I'll try in the morning and let you know.

Thank you. Worked like a charm. I totally forgot about the stupid onboard manual which requires you to go out and sit in the car and search for things. MB did have a guides app which is currently not available in the US, though they have been resurrected in the German App Store. I have them on my iPhone which replicates the onboard manual. Below is a screen shot of how to control the camera. BTW I will lose the Guides if I update to IOS 11. Again, thanks.
