HI, I hope I can help - I've had the same issues over the past six weeks with the same model 2012 C220 Cdi Sport . And finally a MB specialist sorted it - it started with an MIL light
Symptoms started with code reader - Mass Air Sensor Fault = We replaced but not solved as then threw up EGR valve - We replaced (but I did Drive around for a week with the MIL light on in limp mode) we thought it was solved although the DPF fault with 400% came up which required a Regen. (this was a result I believe of driving in limp mode with MIL light preventing the regeneration of the DPF - lesson learned) This time we went to the Specialist with the STAR diagnostics - he explained we needed to tell the ECU via the diagnostics we had replaced the MAS and EGR and he cleared both Faults. However around 100 miles later the MIL light came back on! this time it showed P227962 Air Intake leak on the inlet Manifold - we smoke tested = nothing came up. we did have what we thought was a in connected oil leak around the front lower of the engine but no clear source. We returned to the MB specialist in despair - after much searching he noticed the Boost pipes connected to the Turbo were flat and leaking oil/diesel under high pressure - it all made sense - pressure of high revs was the only time it leaked the oil/diesel and we couldn't see on Idle - we then suspected the air intake fault was actually the pressure leak from the broken Boost pipes - MB specialist replaced the pipes, cleared the codes and regenerated the DPF - 500 miles later its still all ok and seems to have solved it. I hope this helps in some way as maybe your Boost pipes are shot and this could be the source of the fault. Other than that Smoke test it - totally recommend a MB specialist as we wasted hours trying to solve it. thanks |
