SAM repair service

Has anyone tried a SAM repair service to fix a non functional SAM unit?
My rear SAM unit for my w164 is not working properly and was looking into buying a used unit but stumbled across a company in pompano beach, FL that claims they can repair SAM units and offer a warranty on the repair.

Any thoughts or recommendations?

Thanks

What do you have to loose----I'd send it off or make very sure you get the correct part for the new to your car replacement.

I have had both tail light pax and drivers side SAMs repaired on my 08 W204 C63 sedan. Was less than half price of new units

That is pretty much my thoughts but was hoping someone could provide a reference to a place they had a good experience with. As for the correct part number, I was going to post my VIN and maybe the forum could provide me with the proper part numbers for my vehicle.

that sound encouraging! Any chance you got them repaired in the USA?

I've been looking on the web for a used rear SAM unit but the part numbers don't match mine. How important is it to get the same part number for this piece?
My VIN is 4JGBB75E87A155816, with this can I find a compatible replacement?

Thanks for the info but I want to make sure I understand it. My part number is 164 540 79 62. According to the info you gave me, does that mean I can use part number 164 540 01 01, 164 540 11 01 or 164 540 22 01?
Sorry for so many laim questions but I got confused because I don't see my original part number listed above.
When I get the proper part that is a direct replacement, will I still have to go to the MB dealer to get it reprogrammed for my vehicle?

Did you ever try this company? I am looking for a repair of a front SAM on a 2001 C320. Just can't find anyone that can repair.

Or if I bought a used one, does it have to be in the car to be programmed to it? Stupid question maybe so sorry in advance.

Never tried the company that repairs the SAM. I ended up going to a local garage that sold used SAM units and they swapped mine out and replaced it with a used one. The part numbers did not match and they retrieved all the info from my old one and flash the replacement with that info. Not sure if the SAM has to be in the car, but the mechanic tested all the lights before I got the car back. Cost me $500.
