Keyless go door handle problem
I have a W222 that is coming up with a keyless go error (internal fault in the left door handle) see picture below
Its the driver door handle. I went through it all step by step, changing and checking the following
1) Changed the actual door handle containing the sensor, made no difference
2) Changed the actual mechanics of the door handle, all the parts the handle attaches to, made no difference
3) Change the actual keyless go control unit, made no difference
4) tested lines from keyless go sensor to front door handle, made no difference
The difference between the left and right handle, is that the left hand (the one with the problem) has this message HALL SENSOR ACTUATED. I have an identical S Class, tested it and it just has NOT ACTUATED OR ACTUATED on the left door handle status page, no mention of hall sensor
I'm at a loss as to what this hall sensor could be, or what to try next, I've already changed all relevant components. I'm thinking could it possibly be something in the actual door lock itself that is causing this 'HALL SENSOR ACTIVATED' message.
All pointers appreciated.

SOLVED
Near the handle, you have a cover with a little magnet inside. Maybe this part is missing.
This support with magnet, could be broken or could be from a handle without keyless entry.

Solved with help from user on another forum.
How dumb do I feel now, I had changed every part of this right up to the main control module, never bothered putting back the plastic cover, was waiting until I have it all fixed. Would have been waiting a ong time as the cover was causing the problem
They hit the nail on the head, even though it looks like a plastic cover, it has a tiny magnet inside. As soon as the cover is replaced the HALL SENSOR ACTUATED message disappears and so does the keyless go error.
Thanks again Trigital. Hope someone else reads this thread and it saves them the exact same headache. Perhaps the Xentry writers could be a bit more descriptive with the hall sensor message, it 'check door handle cover' that would have helped too :-)

I don't have a picture of it as I've sold that vehicle now.
But the cover completely covers the part of the handle which contains the lock cylinder. (the part that does not move when you pull the handle)
hope this helps
