MB Clamp Adapter For Alignment - It is a must ?

Hi Guys,

Hoping someone who has used this, page 11 https://www.hunter.com/Portals/0/Media/5414-T.pdf and also the typical Hunter Quick Grip one https://www.werkstatt-technik.eu/en-gb/3d-anlage can chime in.

The MB Clamp Adapter if I am correct, its measuring base line is the brake rotor, while the regular Hunter Quick Grip base line is the rim/wheel. I hope I explained this correctly.
Wheel alignment measures value so small , 1/60 of a degree or 1 minute of arc they call it, even a slight dirt or wheel/rim imperfection can result a different reading..don't you think ?
I remember when one measures a roundness of a shaft with a dial gauge, dial gauge placement is critical for proper reading if 0.1mm is the kind of tolerance we want to measure.

BMW also requires its own Clamp Adapter.

In your experience, is the clamp adapter really that important ?

Thank you in advance.:thankyou:

.

NO the MBZ propriatory alignment clamp is the MBZ typical 'hi-tech' version of a standard procedure built into Hunter (and other) wheel alignment 'machines.' Industry standard techniques include rotation of the whee-clamp /fixture assembly and adjustment of thumb screws to correct any wheel 'wobble' before any measurements. This easily and positively corrects any 'wobble', while the MBZ fixture depends on precision installation/skill of the tech doing the work.
