2011 E350 4Matic. I was cleaning the engine compartment, when I got to the engine cover these were under the paper towels.
They do fit on the blue bolts pictured for the strut assy. But I changed paper towels frequently and they showed Mystery caps
up when doing the engine covers.

Figured it out. I had my windshield replaced last week. The installer's took them off to remove the windshield wipers and placed them on the engine.
They didn't put them back on and when they closed the hood they stayed right there for a week. After my last windshield replacement one of the wiper arms wouldn't move. They came out and tightened the nut these caps go over.
That jogged my memory.
