Angry 2017 GLE 63s Acceleration Stumble

I've seen a lot of threads on the different MB forums describing power loss issues, but none seem to really fit what I'm seeing. 2017 GLE 63s with ~20k miles. When the engine is cold I experience intermittent, brief but significant power loss. It always happens when accelerating from a stop. Doesn't matter if I floor it, or softly accelerate like a blue hair on Sunday. The power loss lasts maybe a second or less but it cuts out enough to send me forward towards the steering wheel. No CEL or codes. The issue disappears after the engine is at operating temperature. Usually it only happens once after leaving the house. I'll try to attach a video. Unfortunately the steering wheel covers the tach when it happens but you can hear the engine noise cut, and the phone jerks forward towards the steering wheel. Still under extended warranty so I've got it with the dealer now. They can reproduce but cannot figure out the root cause. They're getting ready to do compression, leak down and smoke tests.

Anyone with the 5.5L Biturbo see anything like this?

Not sure but maybe @Max Blast @BlownV8 or @arsupisemnet have an idea.

From my experience, it happens because, at least my theory, the tires are cold and it is cutting the power to avoid wheel spin. It his highly annoying and a bit scary when you really need to accelerate quickly and the car will not go.

I think that's a logical conclusion, but not the case here. I've been through cold months last spring and didn't have this issue. Tires are almost brand new, but the same brand/type as I had last spring. Also, it will happen in comfort mode (starting out in 2nd gear) with almost no throttle to make the tires break loose. It also feels different than when limited slip kicks in under heavier load at operating temperature. Thanks for posting your thoughts though! It's a strange problem for sure.

Could be due to ECU programming to get motor to warm. Just a reminder - MB don't want you to put too much load on the motor until it reaches working temperature - to avoid warranty service.
It is even written in owner manual for M278. I guess they might start enforcing it.

Sorry for not following up. This ended up being an issue with the torque converter. The dealership re-ran a tuning/config process and the issue was solved. Haven’t had the problem since.
