MBUX slow to load

My wife and I just picked up our 2022 GLS 450 a couple weeks ago. We love it. One issue that we have seen is that the MBUX system is really slow to load sometimes. Like 1-2 minutes before the Mercedes logo goes away and I can pick a user profile. During this time the radio is silent as well. What I have observed is that the Mercedes logo initally appears and just sits there for a long period (1 or 2 minutes). At some point, the screen goes black for a couple seconds and then returns to the Mercedes logo and then loads normally. It doesn't happen everytime, maybe about half the time we get in the car. No real pattern to it that I can find.

Is this an issue that is known? Is it related to the newness of the car? Something to have a tech look at?

CAN Latency: slow BOOT sequence....

You sir, have a very good observation skill with this slow boot sequence.

I've witnessed the exact same extra-slow or sometimes super-fast display init when starting the car.

Good luck getting that taken care of, hopefully you can find some relief. Perhaps couple firmware updates will address that condition... Search for TSB without waiting for your busy dealer. They avoid documenting their failure to repair new cars (3-tries lemon law) under manufacturer warranty.

Unfortunately many causes can affect performance of networked systems:
1- iPhone: Bluetooth, phonebook, etc...
2- Faulty CAN modules: need to Scan for DTC!
3- Host car benefits from getting a 10mn Reset

The last one is my favorite go-to, it makes the whole car more responsive: throttle, tranny, suspensions, ... and of course the display boot.

Try it!

CaliBenzDriver,

Thanks for the complement. I design web applications for a living. It has taught me a lot about troubleshooting issues like this.

Thanks for the advice. I am checking through a few things now, but I am starting to suspect its my phone (an Android) that is causing it. My wife never has the issue, only me. She also has an Android, but its a different (newer) model phone. I'm not sure I can do the 10mn Reset as you suggest as I'm not sure how to disconnect all the batteries (12v and 48v). I certainly don't want to screw that up. If it keeps being an issue, I'll take it in and see what they say at the dealer. I'm hoping that they can pulled failure codes and/or a log that would indicate an issue. Maybe a pipe dream...
