CLK430 Diagnostic Issues

Hi, I'm hoping someone can help. I posted this issue in the W208 section but didn't get any replies. I am almost out of time to fix this, I can't pass the smog test and will soon not have a valid registration. I have tried numerous tests to find the problem. The most recent being that I took the vacuum heads off of the diverting valves and started the engine from dead cold. The air pump runs and the vacuum valves open and air flows out of the bottom of each vacuum control head. The second part is that I can feel exhaust at the reed valves at the top of the lower half of the diverting valves and if I press down on the check valve reed on each side exhaust comes out. It seems all components of this system work. I also replaced the O2 sensors on the right side early on in this unfortunate journey because I had codes on them both. If someone could please suggest what my next move should be I would be grateful. I would just take it to a shop but I am afraid they would just start replacing things without knowing what is really wrong. Thanks
