Battery / alternator problem

Its been as cold as the north pole in the past couple days in here. And with that cold weather strange things started to happen with my car.
Over the past years I noticed the car would do weird stuff when I first start it on cold days in the early morning, and I think I’ve read a lot of posts in here about same thing happening with other people.

But just couple days ago, when I started the car in the morning… it started vibrating and shaking, as usual, but then unlike always the engine died. And I had to start it again. Similar thing happened yesterday. But just when it felt like the engine is going to die (it didn’t) I got a red warning message that said something about battery and alternator.

So what the hell is wrong?

Starting Problem

Please if you can tell us the year make and model of your car. Have you had to jump start your car at all during this time. Does the car turn over and smooth out after a warm up period.
