Running boards standard option?

Are running boards standard option on W164 ML63s? Those rubber dimples keep on falling off on recent 11 ML63. I assume it's due to wife's heels.
Was at dealership for service on the GLK when I was asking SA if running boards were cover under 4/50k factory warranty. They said yes if it was installed at the factory vs 1 year or so if dealer install item.

From everything I've read, ML550 and Ml63s come with them as standard options...
I rather not have them replace two boards cause of a few rubber pieces, but it's getting a bit annoying having to paint the area black and unable to find any place that sells just the rubber pieces.

my 2008 ML550 came with them from the factory. My 2013 ML63 was a custom order that I added the running boards as a no-cost option from the factory.
