ML55 gone again?

ML55 gone again?
Well just like the ML55 disappeared when the MBUSA site changed from the '02 to the '03 model year, it is gone again - they have changed the pages over to the 2004 model year.
If you go to the previous ML55 page (http://www.mbusa.com/brand/container...modelCode=ML55), the coding is slightly messed up, but it's still the same old '03 page.
I'm assuming either they're doing the same thing they did at the start of the '03 MY - not posting the ML55 (and thereby causing tons of rumors
) and then bringing it back later on. Or maybe they just decided to stop production for now as the W164 ML is coming next summer.

See this thread - I posted most of what is known/suspected of the W164 ML, which will be coming next summer (summer '04) as a 2005 model.

The production of the W163 ML 55 will run out by the end of the year, but I don't know if the ML 55 will be available in the US until the end.

If I am understanding you correctly, what he said to you is that it will be either a very late release MY05 model (which would have no benefit for MB) or an MY06 model. The latter is highly improbable - the current model just can't run that long. The ML is not like the SL, whose generations last for nearly a decade (some longer) each. Think about this - the ML was released in the US in 1997 as an MY1998 model. If they delay it till 2006, the W163 will be almost 8 years old by then.
